After living all over the world, the inner northern suburbs of Melbourne is a utopia for me. Parts of Spain or the Netherlands also drew me in for the quality of life but the economic reality of living in those places doesn't compare.

I think it depends massively on your community and the company you keep but living in Australia is still far superior to most of the world and I choose to count my blessings everyday despite its problems.
