An important reminder on the road to creativity and in life in general. Trying to avoid making mistakes sounds like a smart thing to do and I definitely wasted far too much time over-analysing, dithering and worrying about every potential outcome of every life and career decision throughout my 20s. I still made far too many “mistakes” despite my worrying and I remain very good at deep and divergent thinking, but it's also important to remember that mistakes are feedback and over-analysing can turn into mental masturbation disguised as research. It’s a bit like when you immediately think of the right answer in a quiz and then spend the rest of the allotted time thinking yourself out of it due to your indecision.
