Rain falls on high peaks and forms a waterfall
I wake from my slumber and roll out of bed

Birds charge across the sky as they migrate with the seasons
I hide from cold rain under the cover of an old growth tree

Driftwood litters the beach as a cyclone rages offshore
I trudge through mudded tracks on my way to work

The crescent of a silver moon casts shadows on its orbit around the Earth
I lose track of a conversation as my thoughts retreat inwards

A comet blazes across the night’s sky towards an unknown destination
I turn the tap in the shower and feel warm water pour across my skin

A crocodile launches from the surface of a still river to seize a startled wildebeest
I kiss my partner’s lips in a practised display of affection

Penguins weave between icebergs as predatory orcas prey
I hear my breath as the sight of mountain peaks momentarily quietens my mind
