Watch for the vultures
All life gives, it takes away
Taking laboured breaths

Deep as the ocean
Still. She listens to the world
High as the mountain

Darken my harbour
We weather the storm. Our hearts –
Beat in unison

Dawn, time of solace
Restless Kookaburra calls
Awake. Peace disturbed

We sit, tea in hand
Perched on a porch, looking out
At the end of life

Morning light of spring
Cracked ice slips beneath the dark
To join the water

Dreams are for living
Love keeps us from forgetting
Shifting sands of time

Free to smoke a joint
Inhale, smile, dance, dream and rage
Just to make a point

Raindrops falling fast
Birdsong in the morning light
Alone. Eyes open

One with the current
To our destiny we float
Ripples of water
