I agree. I do believe this has more to do with increasing reads on the best performing pieces and thereby profits by pushing these articles up Google's search ranking which would increase engagement possibly on the platform, meaning more readers, but in the short term, new writers and less profit-oriented writers will find their numbers diminish which is a shame as this was who the platform was originally geared towards. In saying that, I will happily be proven wrong.
