Soaring property prices are part of a global system driving soaring inequality which benefits those that have and exploits those without. With no limits on home ownership, additional housing will be purchased by the highest bidder to exploit those without, widening the gap further. This is the rich getting rich, while the poor get poorer in action. Immigration is not the cause, the propagated idea that homeownership is a business and not an attainable goal for ordinary people will cost us all dearly in the years to come, in creating a vision of the future which does not serve young people, leading to a growing apathy with our capitalist system.
