Sounds like the millennium bug all over again. AI is a tool, like any other. It reminds me of the famous quote, "guns don't kill people, people kill people", which is true. Technology designed to kill, like the drones used in modern warfare, are dangerous because they are designed with that intention, AI or not. Which is why regulation is hugely important.
Using AI, the source and reliability of information is also becoming increasingly difficult to discern. How do you fact check what comes up in AI, the web. Which is soon to be run by AI. So you will be fact checking your amalgamated AI information with more amalgamated information. History is written by the victors or the powerful, whichever way you look at it. Every superhero movie features a nerd that tries to bend the world to his will, because in reality, the odds are often socially stacked against them. Sure, impressive achievements but at the end of the day, they are still usually self-obsessed, lonely and socially awkward nerds. And there is nothing wrong with nerds, they are also usually intelligent and interesting people, unless of course, they want to take over the world for their own ends.
