Unfortunately, we can't have it both ways - we can't have unlimited access to projecting our thoughts and ideas and not also open ourselves up to the ideas and views of people who are less informed than us or have opinions we don't agree with.
This doesn't stop anyone with a smidgen of fame or wealth projecting their views through the heavily biased lens of the media, regardless of how well informed they are or the ill effects of their views on the masses.
If I agree with your article, then I concede that I am also aggravated by the weaker opinions of others in comparison to my own (many of which could be younger than me), and that I feel my views superior... and here lies the conundrum.
