Well written and very amusing piece but I respectfully disagree. Growth is exponential or entropic, not linear. If they can make social media more addictive and pleasurable for the dopamine receptors in your brain than real life, then virtual reality, which is an all-encompassing sensory overload, should be a piece of cake. After all, you most probably have a good life on average with some good genetics (I know, I'm making assumptions) but for those less fortunate, virtual reality could be a far more enjoyable and captivating experience that the real thing.
