While I respect the deeper underlying message you are trying to convey and your vast experience and knowledge as someone specialised in the field, I do think that people taking ownership of their health and unique biology is a good thing.

Unfortunately, the profit makers are louder and far more accessible as a source of informaton than the hard science. For people who are desperate for anything to alleviate their pain and depression, they just can't wait for their natural state to suddenly come to their aid.

Undoubtedly, big changes in the way we live our lives and the pressures of the digital economy have severely limited any downtime we may have which is why biohacking has arisen in the first place along with meditation and other Eastern practices which adovocate self-sufficiency.

The greatest thinkers and inventors of our world were often everyday people with a penchant for thinking creatively about problems and finding solutions. Einstein was unknown to the scientific community until he developed his theory of general relativity. I don't underestimate the power of passion when the right person is in pursuit of a solution.

People have to be careful and aware of the risks of consuming anything that offers a quick fix but until significant amounts of money are invested into public sectors to counter the profit makers we will continue to see these sectors failing to help where they are most needed.
